I was thinking of upgrading my onboard video card to a separate, more mid ranged video card for gaming such as the mass effect series, dragon age, and sc2. I was thinking between the Radeon 5770, GTX460 768mb, and Radeon 6850. But one of my friend told me if I'm getting the 6850, then I should've instead wait for the 6900 series. I asked why he said because 6900 is the true successor to the 5800 series, not the 6800s. But he doesn't know the details such as how much better they are compared to the 6800s, their release date, and their price range.
So those are my questions. When is ati going to release them, how good they are, and are they worth waiting and paying more money instead of the other models such as those mentioned above?
Thanks|||To help you choose the best video cards, you should have a look at these links:

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php|||the 6800s are actually more power efficient versions of the 5850.
therefore, they're weaker than the 5870.
however, they're probably above your budget, since you're looking for a "mid-range" graphics card, not a middle-high end one like the cards in the 6800s are in.
the graphics cards you were all looking at were all in the middle-high range btw, and they can all probably play the games you want at full settings.|||No one knows yet. Personally, I wouldn't buy any new GPU until I say some valid benchmarks for it. As always though, the more you spend, the better card you will get. The GTX 460/Radeon 5850 and up are all upper mid range cards and will run those all well
My 5850 maxes SC2 and Dragon Age out, no problems
