Which Graphics card is best for gaming?

Trying to figure out which graphics card is the best for playing Mw3 or Bf3 Black ops etc.

Or if you have a better one let me know|||Between those, the Radeon HD 5850.

But what's your budget for a graphics card? Why are you looking at used models with no warranty instead of buying new?

Here's a list of best graphics cards in every price range:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fast…

Here are quick looks at performance...

Low-end to low-midrange cards:

Midrange cards:

Midrange to high-end cards:

http://www.techspot.com/review/359-nvidi…|||Out of the 3 I think the ATi Radeon HD 5850 would be the one to go with. Its faster then the rest, if you want more info on them try here http://www.gpureview.com/|||Nvidia GeForce GTX 590 is one of the best ones. But only if you can afford it.|||5850 is a solid one if you can afford it.

What video/graphic card would be best for Spider-Man 3?

I have an HP Pavilion Slimline s7520n PC with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 motherboard, and I would like to play the Spider-Man 3 PC game, but it requires a Pixel Shader Model 3.0. I checked, and it looks like my only room for upgrades comes in the form of a low profile PCI slot, and HP recommends that such a PCI upgrade be 5 watts or less.

What video card should I get? Or should I go a different route (get different PC, or buy a 7th gen console, etc.)?|||Go to www.newegg.com and search for N82E16814161079 this part will do what you need if it will fit into your case. Low profile is not good on heat control so you might have trouble later on down the road if the fan should ever fail. I'm so sorry you were suckered into a computer like that. Next time consult your local mom and pop computer store for a custom build. The price may be 100 - 200 more but your computer will be upgradable all the way.|||I checked out your pc and you should have a PCIE slot available. Then you can get a KICK BUTT video card.I looked up the ATI 200 and it says it is PCIE.|||NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT+

ATI Radeon X1300+

Both can be scored from tiger direct or newegg|||Well, I looked up your specs and it looks like you dont have a slot for a Video Card on your Motherboard. You might open up your case and look to make sure if you have an empty slot or not. If you have a slot upgrade is easy, If not I dont think a PCI (not PCIe) with 5 watts is going to run SM 3, if you can even find one, which I doubt.

I advise just buying a new computer, make sure its got a decent Video Card or at least a slot to put one in.

Good Luck|||it depends what ur budget is. email me with ur budget and i can give u a couple options

What is the best PC computer for gaming/video editing?

Looking for brand/amount of RAM, CPU power, graphics cards... want something that will run VERY fast, and I can use video editing software and gaming without fear of a crashing or freezing.|||do you have an budget. if u dont i recommend intel core i7s processor but most people have a slight budget as the core i7s are expensive.

amd phenom II x4 series are good. quad core is needed for big tasks like ur editing. the quad cores also do well on games and some even support quad cores. the best graphics cards are made by ati. their best is the 5990. its name is the ati radeon hd 5990. ram... games need at least 4 gbs of ram but since ur doing other things i would suggest 8 gbs of ram(dual channel,,, dont worry not important) ddr3 at 1600mhz. the motherboard shoudl be asus and compatibaility is easy to check so dont sweat. your hard drive should be a 7200 rpm hdd with 32 mb of cavhe. thats basically it (monitor shoudlbe 1080p 23" with at least 5 ms responce time.. 2 is recommended but a bit more expensive) also you need a back up power supply(they work as surge protecotrs too and protect ur investment.. look at apc at best buy.) this should bring u to 2000 to 3000. oh and liquid cooling for ur processor and case fans that are 140mm are important. if u liek my answer plz put as best anwer. follow my rig below and ull do well

Any other sugestions would be great, thanks!

A+ Certified PC Tech|||The best card on the market is a Geforce 8800GTX so... they're expensive, they're power hungry so you'd better have yourself a 450W or greater power supply (emphasis on the greater....). If I had very deep pockets, this is the card I would get, course you'd still need to get the actual water cooler, http://www.bfgtech.com/8800GTX_768_PCIe_… or you could just get a standard one with the huge heatsink/fan combo on it.

Other than that the 7900GS or GT is very nice... but ummmm, they lack all the things that make the 8800 cool, like 96 shader units (something in that range), HDCP and DirectX 10 support. Okay so some of the 7900s do have HDCP support but the 8800GTX is just... ummmm, like faster and stuff. If I had the money... that's the card I would get. Can't be beat. It just can't.|||Thanks, there are plenty of benchmarks out there to prove those very points, even the 8800GTS is a very nice choice.

|||very good, i'd get dual x1950 crossfire editions there the best of the best with an amd processor. another thing is that you should consider getting 2 gb of ram, because in the near future you will need it. also i dont know if this is the best time to build i new computer, i would wait 6 m onths or so when there is vista with at least sp1. thats just my opinion and hope it helped.|||( VOTED FOR ME FOR THE BEST ANSWER)

( BUY ANY OF THIS VIDEO CARD IF YOU CAN AFFORD)|||If your going with an amd processor go with a crossfire setup and if your going to be running vista get another gig of ram and a couple of 160 gig raid 0 HDD's would probably give better access times|||The GeForce 8800GTX are the best out right now, but of course expensive. I could go on forever with suggestions, but I won't do it on here. If you wanna discuss parts, send me an email, its in my profile. My Video Card:

What is the best video card for a laptop?

i have a Sony VAIO VGN-NS205N/S and i need the best video card for gaming. i want one that will play games like left 4 dead, halo 2, gears of war, and other top line pc games.|||I would suggest an ATI Mobility radeon 4850, it has Shader model 4.1, physics processing, DirectX 10, it just costs alot of money! I got a laptop that has this and it works great! just be sure your pc can handle the power!

Hope you ya get the awesome gaming you deserve!

Best cheap graphic card for multi-cam, 3-monitor video editing?

I'm looking for a "good enough" graphic card for editing a multi-cam sitcom pilot that was shot in HDV format. I'm currently running with two 1024x768 monitors and planning to add another identical monitor in the very near future.

I'm leaning towards the Eyefinity capability of AMD Radeon 5xxx graphic cards. This PC will NOT be used for games. It will only be a video editing station.

My budget is VERY TIGHT, so I'm thinking of the HD 5450 or the HD 5570.

Do you think that the HD5450 will be ENOUGH for to edit a HDV multi-cam video with 3x1024x768 triple monitor setup? Or should I go for the 5570 instead?

I need it to be decent but cheap, cause the extra cash I saved will go to another stick of RAM.

My current setup is:

AMD Athlon II X4 635

4GB of value DDR2 RAM

1TB of WDC Green HDD|||1.I suggest you NVIDIA 7600GT

2.go tot nvidia.com and check all models

What's the best video card I can get for aboout $100-$150?

I don't want to pay an arm and a leg to get a video card for my computer because the thought of the tiniest electrical shock being able to fry a whole computer is all too real.

I want a card that I can play online games like Dark Age of Camelot with. Nvidia or ATI, doesn't really matter to me.

Provide links to sellers and reasons to support your recommendation if you want the best answer points!

Thanks all!|||Looking at the system requirements for that game you listed, it doesn't take nearly anything from the graphics card to run the game. You could use a $50 card and it still runs fine. What are some other games you play? Anything system specific and not online?

If you still feel you need a card then the 8600GT or 8600GTS series basically dominates the price range you have selected. I'm assuming you have PCI-E 16x. Newegg has a variety of these cards available. Here's an example:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…|||Do you need an AGP or PCI-e video card?|||You can get an 8600gt or and 8600gts. They are pretty good cards, but if you can manage to save about $50 more, go for the 8800gts. I have one, and it works great even on today's games.

8600gts- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

The Best Video Card I Can Have For The Spec Above?

So Far,I Made A List Of My Own, All Of Them Are Gigabyte's,

Whether The 9500GT 1GB(OC),GT220 1GB,GT240 1GB,GT430 1GB,GT440 1GB,HD4650 1GB/512Mb.

Are there any other you can recommend me? Make sure it fits the PC Spec Above.

The List That I Made,Which Is The Best I Can Do or Get Great Gaming Experience?|||Of those cards, the GeForce GT 440 is best (the GT 240 has the same performance but is older and doesn't support DX11). A Radeon HD 5670 is better than either of those cards.

http://www.techspot.com/review/240-ati-r…

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zotac…

However your power supply model doesn't make sense... is it 480W or 230W? If it's really 230W, that's not strong enough to support any of those cards. You'd need to buy a new power supply.

Of course if you purchased a new power supply of 450-500 watts, then a Radeon HD 5770 or 6770 is the best choice around $100.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fast…|||You won't get a great gaming experience with these video cards. The GT240 is the best choice of the list, but from my list I would say the XFX ATI Radeon 5770. You wont be disappointed.

Best video card for my computer?

I have a powerspec b655, here is the link to the system specs, http://www.powerspec.com/systems/system_specs.phtml?selection=B655

right now i have a 500whatt powersupply and six gigs of ram. my video card is an ati 5550 1024mb. for anywhere at or less than 200$ what is the best video card i can buy for gaming?|||the best card you can use with your budget and power supply would be Radeon HD 6850.it performs as good as the 1 GB GTX 460 at the cost of 768 MB GTX 460 but power consumption is just at the level of Geforce GTS 450.HD 6850 requires single PCI-E power connector as compared to two PCI-E power connectors for GTX 460.it would be definitely a major upgrade over your current HD 5550.

just make sure your 500 watts of power supply is quality one and provides good ampere ratings on +12V rail.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/rade…|||Something in the newer Radeon HD family. or Nvidia geforce if you like it. but yours is enough for most games!

What would be the best video card for a Gateway GT5692 AMD, especially if you're a gamer? What should I use?

I play oblivion alot and it glitches wayy too much. I'd like to add a video card and a sound card, but i don't know ANYTHING about computers. Any suggestions from you computer gamers out there? What should I upgrade it with? I know its not much of a gaming computer, but i dont have enough money for a gaming rig. HELP?!|||Well your fairly limited with only a 300 watt power supply, I think a GTX 260 is too much for that PSU.

You might try a 4650 or a 4670 from ATI, these two cards do not requite extra power from the PSU, they run on the 75 watts available at the slot.

Also look into the 5750 or 5650 I do not know the power requirements of these newer cards, its possible they might not require extra power. I do not know.

Sound card is not needed unless you have the high end speakers to go with it. Otherwise any extra sound quality released by the card is lost in the speakers.

Or, if your an audiophile and really enjoy and recognize the improved sound quality. I can tell the difference if I play a song that I've heard hundreds of times, but sounds that I'm unfamiliar with I cannot even tell the difference between onboard and add in card sound.|||The Nvidia GTX 260 is a decent graphics card. You DONT need a new sound card. Waste of cash unless your sound is messed up.

Which Video Card Is The Best For Gaming These Days?

ok, heaps of good game came out ( Farcry2, COD4, Cod WAW etc.) and coming out, include cod mw2, l4d2and so much more. And I'm think of getting a new gaming pc and just wondering which graphic card is the best for gaming these days? p.s I do know the nvidia GTX series is the mose Extreme graphic card, but I don't have the money 4 them, any ideas? cheers|||i would say NVIDIA is as good as they get

http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html

they come in many varieties 256MB, 512MB &1GB

and they are supported b almost all motherboards and games.|||The best ones are more costy than cheaper ones and therefore will perform better. The Nvidia GTX serie is really good, but costs a lot of money. If you want a decent videocard for gaming, I would look for 300$-600$ (only for the videocard).

Gaming PCs are costier than the consoles (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). The consoles can still play about any game that comes out. So you decide: buy a very expensive desktop PC that'll last 3 years at best or a console for about 400$ that'll last 5 years.|||save up for the nvidia gtx|||For my games i use a Radeon HD 4670 1GB Card. It is able to play All of the above listed games at high detail @ 1440x900. The Sapphire Version of this card can be picked up from Newegg.com for $80. ATI based graphics cards tend to be cheaper for the same quality compared to nVidia cards. Much like AMD is to Intel.

Which is the best video card to buy for gaming?

I want to play games on my pc I bought the force unleash for windows and could not play it, want to know which is the best video card in order to play games full speed with out my pc getting freezed|||two 590 GTXs. sli. if you can find them.|||Just having a video card wont let you play any game. It is important to have a good video card, lots of ram, and a good CPU in order to play any game out so far. I would reccoment atleast 4GB of RAM, atleast a 3.0+ Ghz quad core processor, and atleast a 1Gb video card in order to play just about any game out on the market.|||I'm going to assume you have a regular sized desktop and not a laptop or a small form factor desktop. If you have a laptop then you are out of luck, but anyways.

You need to have an available PCI-Express x 16 slot

This video card should be sufficient for your needs. It's not the best graphics card on the planet but it's not terrible.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Upgrading your graphics card will also require you to upgrade your powersupply since most manufacturers use the bare minimum.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Newegg is the cheapest place on the Internet to buy parts, but if you feel uncomfortable buying and / or installing them, I suggest taking your PC to your local computer repair shop and have them do it for you (Avoid Best Buy at all costs).

What is the Best Video Card for Hp a264w comp.?

I have the comp. mentioned with G force nvidia4mx intergrated grapics. This has worked fine until now. I play The Sims 2 and have all ep's up to open for business (base game and 3 ep's). Well I would like to get pets and Seasons but from all the trouble other people are having in the Sims forums, I don't think i have a good enough card and I would like to know what is the best graphics card that is compatable with my computer. Please help, have tried to find it online and haven't had any luck with finding compatabilty. I had crucil.com do a scan and they had nothing to help.

PS. I have the max ram for my computer 1gb|||The best - most powerful AGP 8X graphics card available in the UK is the ATI Radeon X1950Pro - just over £100 from Dabs. You may be pleased to hear that such expense is not required for Sims!

At the value end of the market, I would suggest that you avoid the Radeon 7000 and 9250, and the nVidia FX5200.

Scan have two cards which I would recommend strangely both at £28.19 today:

256MB Gigabyte Radeon X1050 AGP 8x 128Bit GDDR2

256MB XFX6200A AGP 4x/8x

Either of these will provide a vast improvement over your integrated MX graphics, without breaking the bank or saddling you with obsolete technology.

What is the BEST video card for my computer situation?

I have a tower with a GeForce GT 430. I can run some games OK, but I want a graphics card that can actually handle the bigger games (Battlefield 3).

I have:

-i5 2400 processor

-16 GB RAM

- 430 watt power supply (Thermaltake)

- only room for whatever my current GeForce GT 430 video card takes up.

So I need a Vid Card that can fit in the space I have, and only use 430 watts. Any ideas? I don't care the cost.

Thanks for any help!|||How about a hd 5670 or a 6670. I'm pretty sure both cards are small and can even run on a 300watt psu.|||Well, not with that PSU.

Most cards capable of playing BF3 will require at least a 500W PSU (generally 550W or higher).

You can get a 5670, but I don't know if that card will play BF3 smoothly or not. Also depends on what resolution you plan on playing and what in-game settings you turn on.

Above 1680x1050 and you'll need a mid-range or high end card...|||if your video card is not low-profile then any video card should fit in there

If there is absolutely no hope and it can not be any bigger, look up your gpu model and post the dimensions (height, width, lenght)

What is the best video card for my needs?

I'm looking at getting a new computer and have hit a roadblock when it comes to video cards. I intend to be doing multimedia design (running most/all Adobe products like Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and After Effects) as well as other intensive programs like Maya, 3DS Max... etc. In addition, I would like to game on this set up (on the side).

I would like a video card that will give me the best of both worlds-- excellent rendering and playback as well as high resolution rendering of game environments.

Would it be best to buy a Quadro Series card, a GTX series card, an ATI 5000 Series card or simply buy two 9 Series nVidia cards and run them as SLI? (or another option)

Any and all insight would be greatly appreciated!|||Build it as a Gaming PC, and all your multi-media apps tasks will run just fine.

We can't answer your specific question about graphics card configurations without knowing the Make and Model of your MoBo, which Games, AND your budget.

hi i am looking for card that sutes with hardcore gaming .....here is my system Asus p5w dh mother broad crossfire ready ...2Gb ram crucial ....intel e6420 core 2 due ...and 750Watts power supply .....i have good cooling system .......i am ready to spedn about £200 ......i saw Asus 2900XT card is it any good ? as long as my motherboard supports cross fire does it work better with ATi rather tha Nvidia ...? Please tell me good card ? for this price i know nvidia 8800GTX ultra thing are the fats and best cost way too much for me so ...what are the other options i have rather than choosing those expensive Ultra cards ?|||if i would buy a new card, i would go for the "higher average" type of card, they sell for around 300 dollars, so you don't spend too much money, for a card that can play 90% of the games out there now.

I would take the 8800GTS|||Yes the ATI HD 2900XT is a high end card that will work better than a nvidia card on your motherboard. Crossfire will allow you to add a 2nd card down the road if you choose to go that route. If the HD 2900XT is a bit out of your reach look at the HD 2900PRO cards. They are a good buy as the price has dropped a bit from when they were brand new. I think newegg.com has them for around $300.|||Nvidia has just released the 8800GT which has 512MB GDDR3, has a core speed of 600Mhz and a memory speed of 1800Mhz which makes for a good bang for your buck card, they are priced low as well.. If you can go for nvidia cards, they are kicking ATIs butt at the moment|||If you have no plans of running Crossfire, get the 8800GT, best bang for the buck right now.

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.a…

However, if Crossfire is on the horizon, you have no choice but the HD2900XT or wait a bit for the new HD3850 or HD3870.

What is the best video card for a micro tower? (HP Compaq 6000 Pro)?

I want to get the best video card for this type of pc. I want to be able to run the latest games (SR3, BF3, Skyrim, maybe Crisis) while at a high resolution setting 1920x1080|||For BF3 or Skyrim on high @1080p, you should get an HD 6850 or GTX 460 1GB, minimum. But I really suggest getting at least an HD 6870/GTX 560 or GTX 560 Ti/HD 6950 1GB, if you can afford it. Just make sure that it can fit your case. Open your case and measure the clearance between the back of the case and the hard drive cage.

HD 6850 is just under 9"

HD 6870 is just under 10"

GTX 460 and GTX 560 are both 8.25"

if you want a card that will play ALL the games at Ultra Settings(except for a few like GTA4, which you get Frame Rates of 40-60 with SLI GTX 480's on High Settings because the game is just a GIANT DEMAND-ER, the more CPU cores and horsepower the more your GPU will be used and ultimately higher frame rates)

Better for gaming: i7 920 at 4Ghz with HD 5770 or i5 750 at 4Ghz with HD 5850 video card?

which combination would be best for heavy gaming?

i7 920 @4Ghz with HD 5770 video card

or

i5 750 @4Ghz with HD 5850 video card?

both with 8GB RAM 2200Mhz|||It's a tough call, but I would say get the i5.

Take a look at this link:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/core-i5-ga…

If you take a look at these benchmarks for gaming, you can see that you only get a few FPS more with the i7 than the i5. You can easily gain those FPS and more by getting a HD5850 over a HD5770.

I hope this helps!|||go with the i7920 - it has turbo boost and a lot more cache ram.

I am assuming the video card is better than the i5 card simply because the processor is more powerful|||Lol OMG, my PC i just built a few months ago has a Core i5 and a HD5850.

I would definataly go for the i5, as at 4GHz.. seriously you dont have to worry about much at all at that speed. And the Core-i5 and Core-i7 have the same 8MB L3 cache... just the i7 has hyperthreading. To other guy: The Core-i5 750 has turbo boost too, but if you overclock to 4ghz, it usually gts disabled anyway.

The HD5850 is wayy better than the 5770, and i can play crysis at full detail and 2x anti-aliasing at 1680x1050.

Just on the OC'ing... what cooler are you going to get, if you haven't decided, i would say get the Nocturea UDP-12 or something like that, its very good.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4114035&CatId=2306|||Well the 2nd motherboard is superior- it's an SLI motherboard (that's why it costs more)

The GeForce 9600GT is an entry-level gaming card, while the Radeon 4850 is midrange. There's no comparison unless you're running two 9600GT cards in SLI.

By the way, that's a TERRIBLE price for a 9600GT, you can get a 9800GT (much more powerful) for about $110 after rebate.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

This card is slightly slower than the Radeon 4850, but at least comparable (both are midrange cards). And two 9800GT cards in SLI are far superior to a single 4850.

Don't be fooled by the 1gb on that 9600GT- how much video memory is less important than the card model. A Honda civic with a 30 gallon gas tank is still slower than a Corvette with a 15 gallon tank.|||Gaming quality is dependent on two major factors.

1. The processor in your computer

2. The video card in your computer

The motherboard is not a major determining factor in gaming. Between the two video cards you provided, the ATI Radeon 9850 is the superior model.

Whats more important in my situation for gaming? cpu, system ram, video card?

Im runing on a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3800+.

My RAM is 1022.5 MB

My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS with 256 mb

Im also running windows XP

Im trying to run newer games, i love making them look the best i can but i honestly dont care bout that when i just want to run the damn game!

Games ive wanted to run have been

Crysis(all i wanna do is run it at a decent speed no matter how bad it will look)

Gears of war (have it beat it, lags kind of and i wanna make it look good)

Bioshock (beat it but it laged and i couldnt get it looking good)

and thares others but all i need to know is what should i do to atleast keep up with games. i cant spend alot right now so a simple cheap fix would be ideal.|||The 8800 cards are much faster so that would be my first buy. RAM is cheap going to 2GB would be a easy upgrade that won't cost much.

At that point I think your CPU is going to be the bottle neck of the system so upgrade is suggested. Any order of the upgrades you list will help the performance of your system. I think you will notice the biggest increase by doing the video card first. You may need to get better PSU depending on what you already use. Check out a wattage calculator like the one at newegg to get the answer to that.

http://educations.newegg.com/tool/psucal…|||RAM. It's always the most cost effective upgrade. 2gbs of the fastest RAM your motherboard can support is good enough. Getting a dual core CPU is a good upgrade too, but that would require a new MoBo, which means (probably) new RAM and (maybe) a new video card.|||You need a better video card man. Something like an 8800gt, or a 9600gt will destroy that card you have now. make sure you get a 512mb version as well....

The 8600gts is actually a pretty crappy card, its not much better than a 7600gt which is now outdated.

Also, the cpu is a single core, which really bottlenecks the card severely.....a dual core would double youre performance.

My rig is an athlon 64 X2 5000+ overclocked to 3.0ghz, 3gb ddr2 in dual channel, and an 8800gt oc'd as well. I can pull an average of 33fps in crysis at 1280x1024 with high settings.|||y duo core when u can get quad core for about the same price, 8600gts is aite u can play most game with it, just upgrade ur ram to at least 2gb it only cost like $100 for 2gb ram, for cpu it depend what ur motherboard can support. but for $100 on ram u will see improvement|||I would say the single one thing to upgrade which boosts gaming performance would be the graphics card! There are many options depending on your budget....HD2900s, 3850, 3870, 3870x2 for ATI cards and 8800, 9600 for Nvidia ones

What Video Card would be best for my Intel D946GZIS motherboard?

I've been looking for a nice upgrade for my Radion 1600 series video card, but have no idea how to go about finding out what card is compatible with my Intel D946GZIS motherboard. I'm attempting to make my computer more game friendly, but am unsure as to what video card to buy / which cards are compatible. The price of the new card doesn't matter, as long as it works. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance|||As the others said, according to intel you have a PCI-Express 16X slot, which will allow you to use any new graphics card.

http://www.intel.com/products/motherboar…

Now one dude recommended the 8800GT, which is a great card and an excellent value, especially considering it's down to $140 with MIR. It is quite fast and will max every game but Crysis and Flight Simulator X (which just sucks no matter what you play it on, so I hear). The 8800GT will pull high in Crysis. There is only one problem with the 8800GT, that being that it draws a fair amount of power, and if you don't have a good supply, it might overdraw and be useless.

Two less expensive options are the 9600GT for $125-130, which is about 10% slower than the 8800GT, and draws far less power, and the Radeon HD 3850 which also draws much less power, costs $100, and is about 20-30% slower than the 8800GT. I personally have a 3850 and am very happy with the performance, as it maxes every game I have including Bioshock and Frontlines.

9800GX2|||Sounds like your computer is a bit old but hopefully it has a PCI-E slot. It should, but you really need to check.

Your computer and price range means that you can forget about "high" settings. I'm sorry, but that's just the way it is. However, you can get the newer games to be playable with smooth frame rates at lower to medium settings.

I'll link to an EVGA NVIDIA GT 430 with 1 gig of RAM that'll support Direct X 11 for $64. If you are trying to get something of same performance range as GT 240 then get an ATi 4670 1GB DDR3 for $60

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Same performance as GT 240, but costs less, has DX10.1 and performs cooler.

But if you are trying to get something of same range of a 9800GT then get an ATi 4770 1GB. Costs cheaper, you can get 1GB version of 4770 for the same price of 512MB 9800GT.

Radeon HD 4770 outperforms 9800GT in most of the benchmarks with clear advantage, by 54.11% in ETQW 1920*1200/8xAA/16xF.

GeForce 9800GT Overclock Edition still appears weak when compared with Radeon HD 4770. 4770 just thrashes 9800GT.

ATi 4770 for 1Gb GDDR5 costs $110

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Both the cards will thrash any game in the world without any problem in MAX settings. 4670 works best in 1440x900 resolution, 4770 has GDDR5 memory which transfers data four times each clock cycle, versus twice per clock cycle as in the GDDR3 memory used in video cards based on the Radeon HD 4670 or 9800GT. Can deliver all games at acceptable frame rates at resolutions as high as 1920x1200. NVIDIA is just not giving good value for money products like ATi, which is slowly becoming the ruler in graphics card market.|||Get this EVGA card, it is the highest rated video card on newegg. $30 over your budget, but worth every penny.

What's the best PCI or AGP video card for gaming that only requires a 250 Watt Power Supply?

I have a Compaq 5311SR and it has a 250 Watt Power Supply and a Ati 9550. I don't want to buy a new Power Supply|||To the person above. A 250W PSU is not enough for an 8800 GTX . I would think that a Geforce 7600GS or GT could run on 250. However I am not 100% sure. This would depend on how much power the other parts of your computer and any other devices (such as something plugged into a USB port) use.|||Don't know about power, but for a card try nVidia 8800 GTX

Whats the best video card for me and where can i get it?

i have a asus tech salmon v. 1.04 and i have 3 pci slots and i agp slot where and which video card is best for me to play video games|||Since you have an open AGP slot, I would suggest you research into those. Although less common, AGP is still faster than PCI. It would also depend on what you are looking for in price range, game types (video demanding/relatively basic), and specs of your computer.

If you're looking for something cheap ($40-$70), I would look into a Radeon X1050 or so... it's new enough that it should last a while. Not really great for high-intensity games (like Bioshock), but would work well for games like Halo.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…

If you're looking for a bit more expensive ($80-$120), there are 2 cards I would recommend. The first is the Radeon X1300. This requires a medium power supply. The Radeon X1650 is another good card, though the X1650 is a tad stronger. It requires a bit more wattage in the power supply as well. These should get you by with newer games, although they also work great on the older ones as well.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…

A bit higher up in price ($120-$150) is the Radeon HD 2600. I'm currently running this, although it's PCI-E based. It is a great product, very fast in processing speed, requires a medium power supply, and is DirectX10 based, so it will run all of your brand new games with relative ease.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…

And finally, at the top of our price list ($180-$250) is the Radeon X1950 Pro. This is about as good as you are going to get for AGP cards. This is an extremely powerful card, running most of the brand new games very smoothly. It is DirectX9.0c based, so it probably won't stick around as long, nor would it work with the very few DX10 games out, but it will be hanging around for quite a long time.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…

Of course, these are all cards based off of ATI's chipsets. I know very little about NVidia cards, so these would be the best I could do to cover all the areas. Remember to double check EVERY ASPECT of your computer before you buy. It would be horrible to buy one, get it, and find out it isn't compatable.

Good luck, and happy shopping!|||what kind of video card...just buy video cards in singapore 10%less

I don't know much about video cards, so what happens to my other video card Intel when I put the other one in? O yea I don't really want something so expensive, but I could spend up to $200 and also tell me where I would be able to buy the card at too.|||first turn off your computer and unplug everything from it. then look of see what kind of video card slot you have. this should help: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/directron…

those are different kinds of video cards. pci-e 16x would be the best. after that pci-e 4x then AGP. since your computer is 4 years old it will most likely be AGP or PCI. if you live in America i reccomend newegg.com to purchase a card. the reviews should give you an idea of what your buying.

if for some reason you have pci-e 16x then get an nvidia 8800gt if not then you have to do some research.

once you put the new card in the bios should recognize that it doesn't have to use your integrated graphics. if not then go intothe bios when restarting the computer and change it.

honestly if you have an AGP slot you are not going to be able to run BF2 on high setting. they arn't powerful enough. you will see an improvement but it might be a waste of money.

also, the cards and slots are not interchangeable. get the right card for the right slot.|||Well, that depends on differant specs of the Video card. How big is your case? how loud do you want it to be? do you want to have to get a cooling fan (for a good one, you probably will). I would definately go to http://www.newegg.com/ to check out their cards. A little research will tell you what each of the items on the side mean. I imagine you will be spending at least $100 for one to just get by, and maybe $175 for a niec one.|||It will dpend what graphics socket you have...

If its AGP then you can get a 7600GT for agp for about £50

If its PCI-E then you can also get a 7600GT for PCI-E for around £50

Both of these cards will run BF2.

Good luck.|||Check TigerDirect for the graphics card, mostly all of them are good ;)|||If you have a Dell E310 I'm going to guess that the graphics slot is an AGP which means you will have to get an older graphics card. The best one for the AGP slot is the nVidia Geforce 7600 GT.

If you have a PCI-E slot then you're able to get the newer cards that are much better. A good card that will run BF2 smoothly is the nVidia Geforce 8600 GT. I had this card for a while and was very happy with it. I upgraded since then but I liked it.

Just for future reference, if you start to get into games a lot, like me, than you will want to save your money and build your own computer. They last much longer, they are much better performance-wise, you choose what goes in and out, you can overclock the CPU, Graphics Card, and Memory, and every part has it's own warranty instead of the whole computer having one.

Best Video Card For my Computer?

I need a new video card and im looking forward to buying one this black friday. I constantly play crysis, crysis warhead, cc3 tiberium wars so i was wondering what video card would be best for under 150. I was looking at the EVGA GeForce 9500 GT Video Card but i don't if this would be a good card for these games to run smoothly and better than they do now. I have a dell dimension 521 btw.|||A 9500GT is weak for that price. In fact, it is about a 8600GTS.

A 8800GT/HD 4850 beats both of them by a long shot and you should consider picking one of these, not a 9500GT.

However, if you wish to save money, you should fine one for ~$75 or so.

Good luck!

By the way, if your dell is C521, you're out of luck. That SFF case can't support any decent graphics card.|||That would be a good card, but are you going to upgrade your power supply? It would be really cutting it close with only 305watts, if it would run at all...But besides that, you could play a medium settings on nice resolutions, I myself am going to get that exact same card.

What video card should I buy best for gaming and multitasking?

I play a lot of CS 1.6, in fact its the only game I play cause my video card right now sucks so much. I'm looking for a cheap card that will allow me to run CS 1.6 above 100 FPS all the time! I might even go buy COD5 when it comes out.

Here is my computer. http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/dell-di…

|||Get an 8600 GT if you're kinda budget bound but if you can really afford it either build your own SLI system with quad core etc. If you just want another vid. card get the 8800 GTX if you have the money. Remember that gaming isn't just about the card. you need a good proc, mobo, ram, etc. BTW, that computer is really bad, you should save for a few years and build your own or get one from ibuypower.

Which CPU is the best for gaming, videos and supports any video card?

my budget is rs 25000 or 20000|||Intel Core i7 2600K but you must wait for B3 stepping motherboards.|||If my conversion is correct, that translates to around $500 or $450 U.S. dollars. The most expensive CPUs cost almost as much as that, and would be way overkill for anything you do. In fact, the best practical CPU money can buy is the i7 2600k, which costs around $330. The i5 2500k is $240, and is more than enough for anything.

If you want a whole computer in that price range with a CPU in it, look for a dual core processor faster than 3.0ghz. Higher end computers usually have quad core processors, so look fr a Phenom II x4 or an athlon ii X4

Best video card for $100 or less?

Looking to buy a new video card for $100 or less for gaming. Currently playing Dragon Age II. What card would get the most bang for my buck? Thanks.|||5830 for $110 on newegg|||U might check out for ATI RADEON HD5770, which costs little ($10-$15) extra, but it will give awesome performance for each of Ur dollars...

If U are looking at $100 and less, then U might go for NIVIDIA GTS450, which is also a good gaming card but has less performance compared to HD5770 and little higher than HD5750...

I recommend HD5770 for 1680x1050 resolution, which gives good playable FPS at maximum settings...

but GTS450 struggles a little at this res..

Anyway, If U have more money & high res, go for HD5770 and If U have less money & less res, go for GTS450..;-)

Whats the Best Cheap video card for my computer?

I have an old dell dimension 3000. I've always kept it running smooth, thats why its lasted me a long time. Ive upgraded its ram to 1gig, since its running XP. It also has a 5.1 creative sound card. What cheap video card should i upgrade so that i could have constant, high FPS on games? And what else simple modifications should i do? Add more ram? Could i change the CPU? BTW: My computer is 2.8ghz P4|||More RAM is always good. I have a dimension 2400 and I upgraded from 512MB to 2GB and I couldn't put a price on the improvement. You could upgrade the processor, as long as you get a compatible CPU. P4 is socket 775. Also, not all 775 motherboards support all 775 CPUs. For example, Core 2 is socket 775, but your motherboard probably doesn't support them. As for a video card, you should check to see if your motherboard has PCI express slots. If it does, you should definitely install a card in a PCIx16 slot. Otherwise, you will have to use PCI, which is much slower. Look at this diagram. http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/cooldrive… Most good cards use the 16x spec. the currently best graphic card today for gaming and video editing particularly in the Nvidia brand|||The 8800 ULTRA is the BEST card as of now.

What is the best video card for a 250W power supply?

It's hard to find video cards for such a small power supply but I found one so I guess there have to be others out there and so I want to ask if you know any good ones that will work with my Hp Pavilion a6302f (250w power supply)?

It's only 256MB but I'm only buying a new card for my Empire Total War which only needs 256MB but since this card is a "dedicated" card does that make it better? A lot better? A little better? Hardly a difference?

Thank you!! Oh and is this card shown above any good? That and does it have a "shader model 2.0 or greater" 'cause I need that for the game, too?!|||I would seriously get a 500w power supply.. they are not that expensive|||Thats the problem with HP, stingy with the power supply. You have a decent processor on that machine and you will limit your capabilities with that power supply. You should look into replacing it with a 500-600 watt unit to realize your possibilities. call around some shops, it might not be that expensive to upgrade.

If you persist in going with the lesser unit, be sure you have the correct slots on your motherboard for the card...PCI, PCI X1, PCIX16, etc.

I cant use your jump to look at the card because I'm USA and they want a Canadian zip code.

However your card choice is probably based on either an ATI Radeon or Nvidia GeForce design. You can go to the Nvidia or AMD websites to find your model card and it's specifications. Shader, etc.

Best video graphics card for sims 3 on a laptop.?

That I need to get a new graphics card? grr....if so can anyone inform me as to what would be the best to get? =( I'm dying to play this game....I'm not sure how to check what graphic card I have already but I think its "Mobile Intel (R) 945 Express Chipset Family" ?|||you can not upgrade laptops graphic card, thats the biggest downside to laptops whatever you buy is what your stuck with forever, you can only upgrade ram but video card is what is important for gaming.

you will have to buy a new laptop @_@|||Yes, the Intel 945 is your video card and it cannot play Sims 3. However, it seems that you are on a laptop and you cannot upgrade the video card on a laptop. You'd need an entirely new computer to play Sims 3. Sorry :-/

What is the best video card for my motherboard under $150?

I want to buy a card for gaming but I have no idea what the differences are or which ones will work on my motherboard.

This is my motherboard: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5235299&CatId=2838|||Well the motherboard doesn't really restrict your graphics card choices aside from finding the right interface (PCI-Express x16 or AGP) but your power supply does.

Higher-end cards require more power, so depending upon what you've currently got, you may need to upgrade your computer's power supply.

For example, with a 300 watt power supply the best card you can install is a GeForce GT240.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

If you power supply is 400 watts, that's enough for a Radeon 5670 or GeForce 9800GT.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

To run cards like the Radeon 4850, GTS 250, Radeon 5750, GTS 450 and Radeon 5770 your computer needs a 450-500 watt power supply.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

So one of those cards, plus a 500W power supply is probably your best choice. If you already have a 450-500W power supply, you could swing a Radeon 5770.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

The GTX 260, Radeon 4870, GTX 460, Radeon 6850 and higher cards probably aren't options for your system (even if you found a great deal for under $150) because those cards require a minimum 500-550W power supply that provides TWO dedicated power connectors. Power supplies like that typically cost $80-$100 all by themselves and computers don't come with psus like that unless a card of similar performance was originally installed.|||The good news is that it looks like you might be able to squeeze a larger GPU into that pci-e x16 slot. It'll probably cover the next slot down but who needs that? (unless you actually do need it XD )

So, for $150 you can pick yourself up a GTS 450, a 5770 (which I wouldn't recommend cuz I have one and I want to shoot it) or a 768 MB GTX 460.

Honestly if you bump your budget up to the $180- $200 you can get something a lot better.

Now, for the "Teach a man to fish" portion of this question, check out newegg.com

http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.…

On the left you can specify exactly what you want for your card.|||If you can find an Nvidia GTX 460 for under $150, then go for it. Otherwise, get a Radeon 5770.

Thank you.|||You didn't list the wattage of the power supply that your system has, but whatever graphics card you decide to buy, your power supply must be able to provide enough power for both your system and the graphics card.

According to nvidia, the 210 requires a 300W or greater power supply (see Specifications tab)-

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_gef…

The 210 is a very, very low grade card that is better suited for use in a Home Theater PC (HTPC) and is not a gaming card.

According to nvidia, the GT 430 also requires a 300W or greater power supply-

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-gef…

As you can see in this comparison, the GT 430 is easily the better card-

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?…

and of the two GT 430's, the Gigabyte card has slightly higher core clock and memory clock speeds (overclocked) which means that it will render images a little faster than the Galaxy card. The GT 430 is a low end gaming card, not a great card, but is probably the best card in your price range.

If you can afford it, for $9 more than the GT 430 and a considerably better choice, would be the GT 440.

http://www.computeralliance.com.au/parts…

Here's a comparison-

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?…

According to nvidia, the GT 440 also requires a 300W or greater power supply-

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-gef…

Because the GT 440 is a more powerful card than the GT 430, it will draw more power from the power supply, and because the Gigabyte GT 440 in the above link is also overclocked, Gigabyte recommends a 400W or greater power supply as stated in the link.

If your system only has a 300W power supply, the GT 440 will probably work so long as your system doesn't have a lot of add-ons or peripherals that will also draw from the power supply. One thing is certain, if you get the GT 440 and your system crashes during gaming, it'll mean that your system is underpowered and that you will need to upgrade your power supply to a higher wattage unit. If your power supply is more than 300W, the GT 440 should work without any problems.

Here's some links that might be useful to you. The first one is a Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart that will give you an idea of how the cards are ranked-

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best…

You can use the GPU Review link to compare the specs on cards.

And this link gives benchmark (performance) results for the cards-

Whats the best video card for gaming?

I'm looking for the best new video card for gaming - PCIx - price no object.|||Whether you want a dual or single graphics card setup, your best bet is the 8800 GTX by Nvidia. It's the most feature-rich (DirectX 10 compatible) and highest performing (highest frame rates). Some of the manufacturers for this card are EVGA, BFG, and Foxconn, just to name a few. Physically, all the different brands are nearly identical. However, the GPU cooler, accessories, warranty, included software, and customer service may vary from one to another. Nvidia recently released the ULTRA version, which is basically a manufacturer overclocked version (if you don't want to overclock the GTX yourself). EVGA's ULTRA version uses WATER COOLING, so be sure you have a water cooling setup before purchasing this model. Some other makers have ULTRA versions that use air cooling. I would look at these if that's what you have in your system. IF you have even more money to burn, get a second card (assuming you have 2 PCIx x16 slots) and set them up in SLI mode.

I'd also recommend visiting Toms Hardware for reviews of top video cards on the market at

http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/07/03/t…|||The 8800GTX is a 3 year old card! The others are quite correct. The Radeon 5970 is the current King Kong video card on the market. It will positively SPANK a 8800GTX.

|||There are really only two choices for high-quality gaming video cards. You either need to go with nVidia or ATi. They alternate on which one is actually "the best." One company will make a really fast chipset then the other will come out with something even faster. Ultimately, you can get really nice performance out of either. As far as which specific model to buy, that depends on how much you are willing to spend. Both companies make very expensive cards that can use multiple GPUs working together and are far more powerful than what the average video game requires. My recommendation is that you look at the requirements of the games you play now, and buy something a few steps better. Unless of course price is not an issue. With video cards, like with many things, you tend to get what you pay for. Often the more expensive a card is, the more powerful. There are some exceptions but that should give you a good place to start.|||Graphics cards have a huge range of prices and abilities. Graphics cards good for gaming may not be the best for editing video. Video cards that excel for graphic design may fall short on gaming. How do you decide what's best for you? This page contains reviews of graphics and video cards as well as information to help you choose the best graphics card for your application.

HD5970 is the best one (it's like 2 HD5850 welded togheter...)

But it's at 650$-700$ CAD...

I think the HD5850 is still the best for the money, it will play any games at max settings for now , at worst when it begins to "lag" you can always buy another one and SLI them... It also has the EyeFinity thing that allow 3 screens.

HD5850 runs around 280$-350$ CAD.

Hope this helps

PS: i don't think you can SLI 2 HD5970...|||I recommend the 2 * Asus Nvidia 8800 GTS 768M

Thats 768 MEG of DDR3 ram on the two of the fastest video cards on the market.

Should cost approx $1600USD :-)|||ATI HD 5970. It is lovely. Three screens with one card, unbeatable high frame rates, dual GPU gaming, decent temperatures, I could go on...

Tad expensive, and needs a good PSU though.

Secondly I am going to be using 2-3 monitors. I will be doing intense gaming. I will also be making intense HD 1080p movies and doing some graphic design stuff. Which of those cards is best for all of this criteria?|||First off, they are all compatible. However, in the case of pretty much the exact same graphic card the Radeon HD 6950 you are gonna get what you pay for. I advise to get the IceQ X Turbo because it is supposed to have incredible cooling abilities and has many other features that come with it. It will also be great for your multi-screen gaming because it supports eyefinity.|||5, sapphire

Best Gaming Video Card $200 Max?

I am willing to spend 200 bucks for a new and very good video card capable of greatly exceeding the graphic requirements of games such as fallout / oblivion. I want the game to run smooth and fast. Also is it hard to replace your video card in your computer because i have no idea how thanks.|||the thing is that u cant upgrade laptops video card

Best video card for gaming on dell inspiron 15r?

That's a laptop lol. Laptops and gaming do not mix. Desktops are where it's at. Unless you definitely can't get a desktop. :3

ALSO! The graphics card is most likely Intel HD Graphics, meaning it is integrated--literally--into the chipset. So that is a big setback.

Not to mention the fact that "changing" the graphics card in a laptop is easily comparable to heart surgery... :3

So, sorry, it's not gonna be possible.

Desktops FTW! If you were to convert to an actual gaming computer, a GeForce GTX 460 (NVIDIA) graphics card would do you good.
