Which video card for 3D gaming is considered the best?

Also which brand is the best for dual processing|||by far the best dual GPU graphics card is the ATI HD 4870 X2



the brand of the mainboard isn't that important (i prefer the brands Gigabyte and Asus), more important is the chipset. the best chipsets atm are

north bridge: Intel X48, P45 and X38. for the upcoming new Intel processor i7 aka. Nehalem it will be the X58.

south bridge: Intel ICH9, ICH9R, ICH10, ICH10R (the R stands for Raid). for the i7 there will also be released a new south bridge called PCH (Platform Controller Hub).
