I'm lookin at both the EVGA GeForce GT 240 Video Card - 1024MB DDR3, PCI-Express 2.0, DVI, HDMI, VGA...... and the Evertop GeForce 9800GT 512MB DDR3 PCI Express (PCIe) Dual DVI Video Card w/TV-Out
or do you have any other suggestions in this price range? +- $80-$100.. no not at best buy.. at somewhere like newegg or tigerdirect or geeks.com
which card is better for games like: Battlefield 2, Fligh Simulator X, CoD MW2, Need For Speed Shift, etc.?
I currently have a Radeon 512 in my system and it lags like a mother on Need For Speed and Flight Sim. I'm building a new system with a quad core and 8gb ram, so i think a good video card should help make my new system a real gaming machine.
thanks!|||I have better recommendations than this.
If you are trying to get something of same performance range as GT 240 then get an ATi 4670 1GB DDR3 for $60
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
Same performance as GT 240, but costs less, has DX10.1 and performs cooler.
But if you are trying to get something of same range of a 9800GT then get an ATi 4770 1GB. Costs cheaper, you can get 1GB version of 4770 for the same price of 512MB 9800GT.
Radeon HD 4770 outperforms 9800GT in most of the benchmarks with clear advantage, by 54.11% in ETQW 1920*1200/8xAA/16xF.
GeForce 9800GT Overclock Edition still appears weak when compared with Radeon HD 4770. 4770 just thrashes 9800GT.
ATi 4770 for 1Gb GDDR5 costs $110
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
Both the cards will thrash any game in the world without any problem in MAX settings. 4670 works best in 1440x900 resolution, 4770 has GDDR5 memory which transfers data four times each clock cycle, versus twice per clock cycle as in the GDDR3 memory used in video cards based on the Radeon HD 4670 or 9800GT. Can deliver all games at acceptable frame rates at resolutions as high as 1920x1200. NVIDIA is just not giving good value for money products like ATi, which is slowly becoming the ruler in graphics card market.|||Get this EVGA card, it is the highest rated video card on newegg. $30 over your budget, but worth every penny.

Hope this helps, and have fun with your new rig!|||9800GT
