My main PC broke down on me & I had to dig out my spare PC untill I fix/rebuild my main PC.
Specs on my backup are:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2
Asus K8U-X MOBO
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.2 GHz CPU
2GB RAM (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS (256 MB) AGP
Creative SB PCI128 (Ensoniq ES1370) Sound Card
I am looking to spend $100-$125 & might buy a used one if it was in great condition & the price was right. I was looking at either a Nvidia Geforce 7950gt 512mb AGP or a ATI X1950 Pro 512mb AGP
I just need something to get me by for 6 months or so & doing without is NOT an option! The BFG 7800gs OC 256MB is ok but I am used to 2 ATI X1800XT 512mb(each) PCI-E in crossfire & ran well dispite the age of the cards. The Pentium Extreme Edition 840 dual core with Hyperthreading & 4GB or RAM helped out a bit as well.|||The absolute best-performing AGP card available is the Radeon HD3850 AGP. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…
Well within your $100-$125 range too.|||I just found a great graphics card for $119.00 at Best Buy. (Also at Best Buy .com). It is the ATI Radeon HD 4650 1 GB GDDR2 memory. It is a great card for gaming. You may be able to use it in your main PC when you rebuild it.
