Best Gaming Video Card?

What is the current top dog for gaming video cards? I am out of touch|||Best single chip: GTX280

best multi chip: HD4870X2, then HD4850X2

GTX295 will be out soon, which will be a multichip counterpart of GTX260/280. It'll, of course defeat HD4870X2. But it's expected to have a very short product cycle.|||ATI Radeon 4870 X2

however nVidia has announced its new dual GPU based solution:

The GTX 295, initial benchmarks show it trouncing the 4870 X2 in everything.

(If you meant the best single GPU card then the GTX 280)|||For nvidia their current top card is the GTX280

For ati their current top card is the HD4870 (or the HD4870X2 which is 2 HD4870s on one card, but alot of money!)|||Best place to keep up to date is Tom's Hardware, they compare all GPU in charts and tests, with easy comparisons, and price ranges. Link below. Good Luck!|||TOP 3

1. HD4870X2

2. HD4850X2

3. GTX 280|||the GTX 295 is going to be lauched on Jan. 8, 2009. GTX 295 beats the 4870x2 at every game in high resolutions (24" or 30"). that was only a preview so the drivers hasn't matured yet. when better drivers come out, this card is going to shine.

keep in mind that the GTX 295 will be priced around $500 - 550. that will make the 4870x2 price to drop from $500 - 550 to $400 to 450.

then the 4870x2 has a better value. unless u play crysis on a 24', then u need the GTX 295

good luck
