What are good specs (Ram,Video Card, Processor, etc) for a gaming computer?

i wanted to purchase a desktop computer, but not sure what kind is good for gaming. I am a total loser when it comes to computers. i wanted to know what are the minimum specs i should look for? and also what would be the best.|||Dell Alienware is really costly nearly starts from above $2000. You can make someone assemble one for you with Processor Intel i5 (4cores, 16Ghz approx), 4 GB Ram (Kingston or Transcend), Nvidia GeForce graphic card (1 GB) and a good CPU well ventilated cabinet as well as 2 good speakers, Mouse(Logitech Gaming) and a good 19" LCD monitor. TRY IT OUT. IT WILL SURELY WORK.|||alienwares are beautiful but they're total ripoff's. go to cyperpowerpc.com (or ibuypower.com, they're the same thing) and configure a p55 computer with 4GB of ram an i5 cpu at 3.2GHz and a hd 5770 video card. with windows 7 installed it will be about $900. that should be able to play any game out there on really good settings (except for crysis of course).|||http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/

Computers with specs similar to those of the lower-end rigs should be good for gaming if you aren't looking for blazing fast performance with everything turned onto high and a huge monitor.

The best specs? Take the most expensive rig and max everything out.|||If you want top of the line, hook yourself up with some Alienware by Dell. It's costly, but hell; it's beautiful.
