If you have a PCI-E slot, then the best game performance card you can get for your money is the Nvidia Geforce 8600 GTS 256mb. Since the 8800GT came out, these cards had a price drop.

If you have an AGP slot, then the best would be the Geforce 7900GS 256MB. It's the best for AGP motherboards, but cannot run DX10.

Yes, I'm an Nvidia fan. But I also have an ATI card which I use for my Media Center PC. But for games, it's Nvidia.|||I'd recommend the GeForce 7900GT. Im not too sure about the price though. The Geforce 8500 is pretty good for the money. if you can, get it "factory overclocked" (runs faster w/ good cooling)
