just give me a list of any games that play on this video card,i like fps games the best and not that much 2d,heres link http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3281698&SRCCODE=SHOPPINGDF&cm_mmc_o=2mHCjCmtB55bETCjCVqHCjCdwwp&cpncode=20-71591276-2 As i said i not a heavy gamer who plays crysis, fallout 3,ect|||Well... 2D SHOULD be OK. Actually these cards would run DirectX 7 games fairly well, at low resolutions like 1024 by 768. The sad thing is that the card you link to is an AGP X4. This really limits what it can do as it also comes with SDR RAM. I realize the listing says 'DDR' but it is actually SDR.
I do recognize that you have asked a question about games you can run on this card and I will get to it. IO would like to point out to you the possibility of upgrading to a more powerful card:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…
This would allow you to play a much broader range of games than the other one.
To answer what you asked, I would direct your attention to www.gog.com. This site has a decent selection of titles in a multitude of genres at very reasonable prices that will work on Windows XP, Vista and Seven. These are for the most part older games, with a very carefully selected batch from the days of DOS. You will find a listing of FPS games here:
http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue#shooter/
Please browse around as you may find something that will catch your eye and give you many hours of happy gaming.
A couple of things to consider here is that ALL the games they sell are single executable files that do not 'phone home' and are completely DRM free. The cost of each game ranges between $3 and $10. You can download any purchases as many times as you wish and can run them on multiple machines. The files you get are frequently large but do indeed burn to disk or copy to hard or USB drive. The add ons that become available after purchase are equally usable and downloadable.
A quick check shows that you may be able to play Serious Sam: the First Encounter with your existing card. I say may as you haven't included any info about the rest of your system. A couple of other games that will be in the same grey area are Unreal Tournament and Rainbow Six. Remember that these games are indeed old and still may be beyond your cards abilities.
Good luck.|||Nope, that's a terrible card, and with terrible I mean absolutely terrible. You will never be able to play any game from the last 7 years with that. Provide a budget. You should look for a card named 'ati 4650'. 4650 are pretty cheap cards (around 50$) and will do light gaming, you can even play fallout 3 on it (probably on mid-high, fallout isn't that intensive) and probably crysis on low maybe.
You can also spend a few 10 bucks more and buy a 4850. Those are quite a bit stronger than the 4650, will do most light games on highest, especially games like Half-Life 2 and stuff.|||Light gaming? How light are you planning on playing, Air? No this card is a useless steaming pile of crap. You will be able to play old games like sim city 4, or just the sims. And Maybe the sims 2 if you are lucky. If you want descent gaming, but light just get a 9400gt. They are like 50 bucks and to a gamer it's considered crappy, but not at all in your case. I have one and I play crysis on it, All settings very high, shadows low, shaders medium, 1280x 768 or something aa off and I get 25fps.|||if i could id give you one but these ones are so old i have mad 64mb 128 bit agps
lol
list off games you would want to play and people can recommend better cards that will be decent to use.
imnot a heavy gamer either but i still keep my system up to date as long as the pricing is decent.
if you feel like upgrading to pcix16 mobo id suggest a geforce 9400gt can play game eve up to black ops now and you can pic it up for like 40 on neweggs.|||3rd post in like 30 minutes? Nice, lol. This card will run low-end games. I'm not (and I doubt anyone else will) give you a list of games you can run with this. AGP cards are old, not very powerful, and will be limited to the games you can run. Doom 2 and Duke Nukem 3D is a good place to start, lol.|||ignore my previous comment
Geforce 3 and up i think is the minimum.Anyone? (i can play 3D mmorpgs like Fiesta Online with 64mb video memory)using g4 mx440|||um.... no. that card is crap. its a 2nd generation. we're on 9 now i believe.
my desktop has an Nvidia Geforce 6100 (which is 6th generation). and that cant even play a FPS with the lowest settings. and get a framerate of 15-20. the only thing that card is good for is 2d gaming or flash.
the vid card i have now is an ATI Radeon 4200 HD. im on a laptop so it aint much. but im able to play my FPS games with a framerate of about 25-40.
i cant really give you a list of games that will play on that card. cause im not sure most of them will even play on it at all. its a very old card. compared to the cards out today.
here are the specs of your card: didicated memory 128mb and no shared memory. memory type DDR. and i think it has a 2.7ghz processor. (i could be wrong on that).
the specs for one of my FPS games: processor: pentium 4 2ghz. ram:1gb. video card: Nvidia Geforce 6800.
basicly the first # in 6100 is the generation. and the 2nd number is basicly the model of that card. the higher the # the better the performance. or so it should be. but thats not always the case.
just put it simply, the card you picked out will not work to your expectations. if you want a card that will work, but is also cheap. then i suggest you look into ATI. they make cards that work just as good as Nvidia. but also use less energy.
i cant really suggest any cards since im not into that field yet. i just did a little google-ing of the card you picked out and got the specs for it. then compared it to the card i have now and how well it does with the games i play.
