I need to upgrade my video card from my integrated one and I have $150 to spend. I want to play some of the latest games even if they are at medium settings. I just don't have anywhere near the money to afford an 8800GTX or anything like it.
My specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo e6550
Vista Home Premium
2GB RAM at 667 MHz
400GB HD|||try and get a 8600gt or a 7600gt (only 1-3 fps less than the 86)
i suggest getting an nvidia but if u dnt mind radeon get the one the guy above said.

NEVER get the 8500gt its a huge disapointment|||if you want to play the latest games, you should just get an xbox 360 or PS3 then. It'll be cheaper.|||Something like this

There are versions with DDR4 too but they're above your 150 limit. Should have at least a 400watt PSU for the 2600XT. Not as fast as high-end 1900s but runs DX10 which is what you want with Vista.|||If you want DX10, I'd go for the GeForce 8600 GT (DDR3 memory). You can find them for a little over $100 at some places.
If you don't need DX10, then the ATI Radeon X1950 PRO is an excellent performer for the money (still under $150).
Look over the link I provided to make your own judgments. It's an excellent article regarding this subject.|||I suggest the following.
7900 gs for $120. It is better than a 7600 or 8600gt, but it does not have DX10 support.

If you want DX10 support then get an 8600 GTS. It and the 7900gs are about equal in performance.

The Radeon 2600 s j suggested is good too.
These cards are better than any 8600gt or 7600gt you will find.|||X1950XT It goes for as low as $145(newegg)now it is significantly faster than a pro(noticeably disabled chip)and just 25mhz core clock and 200 mhz mem clock slower (their the same chip)than the fastest last gen card(XTX)(not including dual cards)thats the best value you can get for that money right now.
If you can't find it for that low either a X1950pro or HD 2600xt or 8600 gt(drivers make it significantly faster than the 7600 gt right now 75% faster in best cases(as in new games but the HD 2600xt appears to be better)
